Biography

Dr. Morénike Giwa Onaiwu (she/they) is a global advocate, educator, disabled person of color, non-binary woman, and parent in a neurodiverse, multicultural, twice-exceptional serodifferent biological and adoptive family. As Co-Investigator, Dr. Onaiwu serves an instrumental role in guiding the community engaged research framework of the project. In particular, she works with other RRTC collaborators to identify and implement strategies that enhance project involvement of people from racially, culturally, and ethnically diverse backgrounds while ensuring that the products and outreach developed through the RRTC grant exemplify and promote culturally competent practices, such as thoughtful use of language and dissemination strategies to reach a broad array of researchers and persons with diverse backgrounds in the community, including those with lived disability experience.
