Susan M. Havercamp, PhD, FAAIDD, NADD-CC

Project Lead

Susan M. Havercamp, PhD, is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and Director of Health Promotion and Healthcare Parity at The Ohio State University Nisonger Center. Her research focuses on mental and physical health of people with disabilities, particularly intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her expertise in behavioral health, heath surveillance, and health promotion contribute to this research center.

Dr. Havercamp completed her doctorate in intellectual and developmental disability psychology at The Ohio State University. She joined National Association for the Dually Diagnosed as a graduate student and served on their board of directors, chair of their research committee, and contributed to the Diagnostic Manual for Intellectual Disability. She received her clinical certification in dual diagnosis (NADD-CC) and has contributed to the behavioral health of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dr. Havercamp is the lead investigator of the Can you hear us now? Engaging adults with IDD in health research. As lead investigator, she is responsible for the operations, management, and oversight of the research center, including the four research projects, knowledge translation, and engagement with the Learning Collaborative. Dr Havercamp is a past president and fellow of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
