Biography
Dr. Andrew Jahoda is a Professor of Learning Disabilities at the School of Health and Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow. He also has a continuing clinical role as Honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist with the National Health Service in Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The mental health and wellbeing of people with intellectual disability has been his main area of research and clinical work. His recent research includes people with more severe and profound ID who may not be able to participate in talking therapies. Dr. Jahoda is involved in clinical trials of psychological therapies to try and find out what works in practice. This research has included examining different approaches to tackling stigma and social exclusion with an emphasis on community and structural change.
