Biography
Mr. Tom Quade earned his MPH from Yale University in 1999, upon returning from the U.S. Peace Corps service, after which he worked as a Public Health Specialist for the WHO. Since that time, most of his work was in local governmental public health with county health departments in Ohio, where he served in roles from epidemiologist, health promotion manager, accreditation coordinator, deputy for administration, and finally as Health Commissioner and/or Director in three different health departments. Mr. Quade’s involvement with people living with IDD is lifelong. His sister is a person with IDD. He credits many of the personal and professional decisions and opportunities to his relationship as her brother and primary caregiver. His work has evolved to working at Special Olympics International, where he serves as the Senior Director of Health for the North American region, including the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean.
